EventsEventsView from the Summit: Exploring the Outdoor Social Prescribing LandscapeDescriptionThis conference is hosted by UCLan's Social Prescribing Unit, UCLan Outdoors and Mind over Mountains focusing on blue and green social prescribing for mental wellbeing. A collaboration between UCLan and Mind Over Mountains (Registered charity: 1190883) - our aim is to bring together interested parties from across the outdoors, mental health and social prescribing sectors to share and explore the existing research, education and community landscape, with a view to enabling participants to leave with a rucksack packed full of ideas, inspiration, connections and opportunity. The central focus is very much around the mental health benefits of being physically-active, such as walking, in natural (green/blue) environments, and the support that is required or available to enable safe and meaningful experiences.
Running from 10am until 4pm, the morning sessions will include keynote speakers from Mind Over Mountain’s Alex Staniforth and UCLan’s team of social prescribing & mental health researchers. More information on the afternoon's sessions to follow!
