School of Sport and Health Sciences
The School of Sport and Health Sciences delivers exceptional teaching, research and consultancy in the areas of sport and health. Our mission is to provide a rich, stimulating and supportive environment for students and staff to develop their full potential and to promote the links between sport and wellbeing within communities through dynamic, high-quality education, research and knowledge transfer.
We have service level agreements with a range of service provider organisations across the North West of England. The School works collaboratively with local FE colleges, statutory and independent healthcare providers, voluntary sector and charitable organisations and develops its portfolio collaboratively with partners in response to national policy and local requirements and needs, providing professional courses, short courses and continuing professional development.
Our academic team consists of dedicated professionals with an active research profile, many of whom also have strong links with industry and relevant professional organisations.
Our students, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, gain in-depth subject knowledge, as well as developing a wide range of personal and transferable skills, highly valued by today’s employers. Our focus is on students developing evidence-based knowledge, skills and person-centred values.
