DescriptionConference information Join us on 21.6.24 for UCLan’s 2nd International Yoga and mind-body practice Conference. Hosted by UCLan’s Social Prescribing Unit, the Director of Public Health in Lancashire Dr Sakthi Karunanithi and the Confucius Insititute at UCLan, this conference aims to explore contemporary research and practice which underpins the latest developments in Yoga and mind-body practice for wellness. Our conference is a growing collaboration between academics, researchers, community practitioners, students and beyond from a wide variety of professions. As such, this conference is open to all (over 18 years only). More InformationAbstracts Call for abstracts is open (deadline: 30th April 2024): Call for abstracts Yoga conference 21 6 24.docx The University of Central Lancashire invites you to submit your research in the form of a one-page abstract (300 words) for submission to this International Yoga and mind-body practice Conference at UCLan. Research and practice-based submissions are welcome with content connecting any form of yoga to health, wellbeing and wellness. Literature reviews, case studies, MSc, PhD research are welcome. Authors who collaborate (e.g. a community/ voluntary/ faith/ social enterprise/ private organisation with health/ social care/ private practice authors and yoga practitioners will be particularly welcome if evidencing social prescribing. We encourage all authors to submit. Abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by the conference committee. All accepted abstracts will be contained within our Book of abstracts available after the conference. Authors are required to register for the conference by the end of February 2023 following accepting to present.
Abstracts will be either: · Poster (physical poster on display at the conference) · Presentation (10 mins, Powerpoint, Live on the day)
Authors will be available on the conference day for delegates to connect with and answer questions. Accepted presenters will receive additional information 1. On how to submit their poster or presentation 2. What happens on the day 3. Q & A A PDF book of abstracts will be emailed after the event More information will be available at the online store within a month of the event, including a timetable of the event.
