Register yourself to complete an English language test.  B2/C1 levels both available.

English language tests can be provided to students who are holding a UCLan offer which is subject to meeting English language requirements.

• Measures the four main language components including reading, writing, speaking and listening.
• Test results are officially recognised by the University’s Home and International Admission offices
• Test results are available to candidates within three weeks of sitting the test. 
• Candidates are unable to re-sit the same level test within a three month period.
• Learners from Foundation Campus (CEG) or studying English at UCLan cannot apply independently. Please contact your course leader for further assistance.

The Test of English Language Level (eTELL) is a comprehensive language exam which can be taken by students as a way of fulfilling the English Language Entry Requirements to UCLan. Currently only available at B2 level*, this exam can be used to fulfil the requirements to most UCLan courses.

Aa an online test, this can be taken either in a computer-lab at one of our many partner institutions, or in your own home.

*B1 and C1 levels are in production and will be available in 2023.

The eTELL test consists of four sections; Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. The whole test takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes including a ten-minute break.

After the test you will receive your results within 14 days. The result will give your score in each of the four skills as well as your overall level.
