Course Dates: Monday 1st September 2025 – Wednesday 3rd September 2025

This 3-day Emergency Point of Care Ultrasound (PoCUS) Course allows emergency doctors, advanced clinical practitioners, nurses, paramedics, physician associates and other healthcare professionals to gain practical skills as well as understanding of the principles of emergency medicine ultrasound.

The Clinical Cardiology short course will update health professionals on the basic principles of cardiology and common clinical conditions and will improve their delivery of high-quality timely care to cardiac patients.

The Fundamentals of ECG short course will update health professionals on the basic principles of ECG recording.

Immediate life Support eLearning course (eILS) is developed by the Resuscitation Council UK for healthcare professionals who may have to act as the first responders in an emergency.

Immediate Life Support instructor (ILSi) is a specialist instructor course that gives candidates the skills to become an Instructor in Immediate Life Support (ILS) and Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS).

These skills can then be used to teach fellow healthcare professionals on ILS and PILS courses.

This 1-day course for dental practitioners involved in the management of patients treated with conscious sedation.

Course for internationally qualified optometrists who wish to apply to register with the General Optical Council.  The course design is tailored to your identified individual learning needs with content delivered at various points throughout the academic year.

This course prepares you for the General Medical Council (GMC) PLAB 2/MLA exam. It is anticipated that following completion of this UCLan CPD course you will proceed to sit the GMC PLAB 2/MLA exam in Manchester. 

This course is for health professionals delivering urgent care in rural and urban settings.  Course is delivered as a combination of online content followed by a 2-day block of scenario-based learning based at our Westlakes Campus in Whitehaven, Cumbria.

The course starts with an introductory webinar and continues online with videoed lectures and case based discussions in our virtual learning environment that students access at their own pace. It culminates approximately 10 weeks later with a 2-day on-campus block of scenario based learning.
