A one-week residential summer school for UK and international students aged 16-18 who are interested in applying to a UK medical school.



The Medicine Summer School will take place at our Westlakes Campus near Whitehaven, Cumbria and includes 7-nights’ fully catered accommodation in single-occupancy ensuite rooms, transport between campus sites in Preston and Whitehaven and all teaching and activities.

Detailed Description

Before completing your booking, please do the following:

1. 1. Ensure you have read the event listing in full: https://www.uclan.ac.uk/events/listing/medicine-summer-school (including the Eligibility and important information tab which also contains links to the Privacy Notice and Student Conditions of Offer)
   2. If you are under 18, please ask your parent/guardian to apply on your behalf. Your parent/guardian will also need to complete and return an Under 18s Form (which can be found in your Online Store Account under ‘Product Downloads’ once you have made your purchase).

UK-BASED GUARDIAN: If you are under 18 at the start of the programme, your place is subject to the completion of the Under-18 Student Form with signatures from your parent/guardian and a nominated UK based guardian.

Where the parents of an international student remain abroad, and there is no relative or family friend in the UK who can be appointed guardian by the student’s parents, the University requires that the student provide details of a guardian based in the UK. Preferably this should be someone who is in or near to the University. The guardian should be an adult who the University can contact in case of emergency and can act in loco parentis.
