Course Description

This workshop is delivered by experienced Forensic Anthropologists from the University of Central Lancashire, and gives you the chance to get up close to real dead bodies (animal) to learn about the processes of decomposition, and how they vary over time and in different environments. The workshop includes a visit to UCLan’s amazing animal decomposition research facility, “TRACES”, where you will see the exciting research projects we are undertaking.

The workshop will give attendees insight into the estimation of post-mortem interval, an understanding of how decomposition processes can vary, and how this science can be used to aid forensic investigations.

Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance and goodie bag, and have something impressive to put on their personal statements.

Disclaimer: Some of the presentations may include graphic images. The animals are pigs that are used for ethically-approved decomposition research and educational purposes.
